Are you being honest with yourself? I mean really honest?

If so, then you should be able to answer this next question.

What are you feeling deep down inside?

What are you feeling under all the rage, anger, numbness , self-pity … under the “I don’t care” or “it doesn’t matter anymore” or “I guess I was meant to live this way” attitude?

I ask this because these feelings are just a defense to keep you from feeling what you’re really feeling deep down inside … the so-called “bad feelings”.

The truth is, there aren’t any bad feelings or good feelings. They’re all just feelings, plain and simple!

What is it that you don’t want to feel? What are you repressing that ultimately keeps you numb, stuck and dissatisfied?

To find out, I encourage you to move more deeply into your emotions … deeper into yourself than you’ve ever gone before.

When you do, what you might find is that you feel hurt, scared, afraid, heartbroken, abandoned, longing …

What do you really feel?

If you want to be happy – I mean really happy

it’s time to get honest with yourself!

It’s counter-intuitive, but the path to joy and happiness is to allow yourself to be vulnerable. To open your heart in a tender, loving, honest, self-compassionate way and feel the feelings you’re so desperately trying to avoid.

You don’t have to be so brave or so strong all the time!

My mom used to always tell me to “suck it up” or “hold your head up high” … as if it wasn’t okay to have my feelings. So, like you, I decided to “be strong” and prove that I can handle anything that comes my way.  When I set out to prove how strong I was, I pushed my feelings aside, pretending they weren’t there.

This kept me stuck! I had feelings that needed to be felt so I could heal!

Do you?

If you’re honest with yourself, the answer will be “Hell YES”!!

So, what are they?

Become angry if you need to. Feel and own the rage that lurks inside you.

Feel the sadness, the pain …

Let your heart break … I mean really break!

It’s from this honest, vulnerable place where you will heal and begin to experience real joy and genuine happiness again.

Take a chance by getting honest with yourself, go deeper … way deeper than ever before … take a risk and see what’s there.

Be vulnerable to all of who you are!

Love yourself and all of your emotions
Practice self-honesty and self-compassion everyday
Stop hiding … because you really are amazing!
